POSITION: OVERHEAD CRANE TECHNICIAN
Crane Technician Position:
The opportunity is for a crane technician that will be based out of the Leduc/Nisku area; however, travel will be required of the technician at different times depending on the schedule. The position includes competitive rates along with overtime pay and benefits.
Service Technician Roles:
The Technician hired will be involved in crane inspections, repairs, break downs, installation and modifications of overhead cranes, jib cranes, gantry cranes and monorail systems. The technician will take on not only an electrical role, but also a mechanical role for the cranes they will be working on.
Qualities Required:
- Knowledge of OH&S Part 6 and CSA B167
- Experience working with Overhead Cranes, Jib Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Monorail Systems, Hoists and Trolleys
- Familiar with Electric Wire Rope Hoists, Electric Chain Hoists and Trolley’s
- Read Electrical Schematics and Engineer Drawings
- Electrical and Mechanical Knowledge of Overhead Cranes
- Experience operating with Overhead Cranes, Hoists, Gantry’s, Monorails, Jib Cranes
- Be able to Trouble Shoot Electrical and Mechanical Failures/ Deficiencies on Overhead Cranes, Jib Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Monorail Systems
- Complete Lubrication, Cleaning, Repairs and Maintenance of Cranes
- Complete Certified Inspections of Cranes and the reports required for each type
- Good Communication Skills – Verbal and Written
- Willing to work in a team environment and well with others.

- Must be Comfortable working at heights.
- Work in a Safe Manner and be Safety Conscious
- Pass a Drug and Alcohol Test when required
- Willingness to Travel, Site Work, Overnight Stays

- Service Truck to be provided for Technician
Working Conditions and PPE:
- Shop Environment (All different types of facilities and industries)
- PPE provided for all work sites by Masco. Candidate will only require his/her Steel Toe Boots
Salary: $38.00 – 41.00 per hour

Education:
- Journeyman Electrician or Millwright (preferred)
- Apprentice Electricians or Millwrights may apply
- High School Diploma
- 4 Years or 8,000hrs of Experience in the crane service/inspection area
